Snapshots

"Mmmmmm, this jelly sure is yummy."

Ingenious Spencer discovered that a basketball worked just as well as a chair as he sat back to enjoy his video (and the slippers, which he put on himself, only added to the funny picture).

This stool is creating so many new options for Spencer, which is why it sometimes ends up in the closet, out of reach.

Visitors

We recently enjoyed some visits from Daniel's brothers, Bryce and his wife Lynsey and cute son Gavin, and Steven. My sister Emily joined us for a trip to the zoo in Salt Lake City and we all enjoyed our day there. The day before Steven left we went to Bridal Veil Falls and soaked in the sun after all the snow we've been having. It was great to see you all--thanks for coming!

Spencer has been learning the signs for some animals, including the elephant, so it was fun to see him see one for real.

Sorry I didn't have more to say about the rest of the pictures but Spencer's awake and ready to eat and I wanted to get this posted after starting it last week, as you can see by the date on top.

Fun with a Balloon

Happy Easter!!

We went to a Easter Egg Hunt at the church on Saturday (since it started raining) and Spencer did a great job putting eggs and candy in his bucket--it happens to be one of his favorite past times so he must have just thought it was time to pick up the mess on the floor. I was recently called to the Primary Presidency (working with the children at church) so I got to prepare a small lesson to share before the egg hunt. I appreciated thinking about Christ's resurrection in simple terms because as incredible and difficult as it is to grasp, it really is something that children can understand too. When we show the kind of faith and acceptance children do, we're really making progress towards becoming more like our Savior. I know that He lives and that because of His resurrection we too will live again. There is no greater news than this!!!

The sun finally came out today so Spencer got to play for a bit before dinner.

My happy family
(And yes, though it's not super clear in this picture, I DID get my hair cut, quite short.)

Breakfast with Gramma

My mom and sister Emily arrived by train last night and this morning Spencer was happy to see some new, though familiar, faces in our living room. He was not shy like they thought he might be but jabbered away and eagerly helped gramma finish her breakfast after eating his own. I brought my mom to the airport today as she continued her journey to California to visit my brother while Emily stayed and watched Spencer (well, it happened to be his nap time so she just chilled while he slept). Emily decided to move back to Utah and I am SOOO excited she's here!
