All we have to do is say the word go and he gets his shoes, hands me mine, and heads to the door.

Sisters

My sister Emily came out to visit me in honor of her birthday and it was so fun to hang out together. We went to a BYU basketball game after yummy pizza and root beer floats and I had a blast enjoying a girls' night out, cheering for the cougars who kept the lead throughout a close game. As I told her when she was here, a true sister is a true friend, and that's definitely you, Emily!!

Spencer had lots of fun with his auntie, who was always ready with new things for him to play with. He especially liked her playing cards and portable DVD player, and all of her attention. He went right to her each morning, jabbering away and picking up where he left off the day before. Fortunatley she was used to the Iowa time zone so she was usually up by the time he was.

Talk Talk Talk

Some of you have already seen how Spencer holds the phone to talk, but here is a quick clip showing just how much he likes to jabber. Some day he'll get the phone in the right spot!

Christmas in Michigan

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation in Michigan with Daniel's family. I'm too tired to comment on all the photos, but as you can see we certainly had a white Christmas and plenty of cousins, aunts and uncles to entertain Spencer, which gave mommy and daddy a much appreciated break. Also, we were so glad to meet our newest nephew--Oliver! It was so good to see everyone and we're grateful we all made it safely there and back again. We have great memories from a great time together--we love you all and miss you already!

My brother Kevin was in town over Thanksgiving and he and his wife, Stephanie, and their little girl Sade got to spend some time with us Saturday evening. Spencer and Sade are just two weeks apart and they got along great! They actually interacted with each other, rather than just doing their own thing, and didn't get upset, which is a real feat for toddlers! This video of them was so cute I wanted to share it. We can't wait for you guys to come back in April!!
